Srinagar 07 June (KNO) : Thousands from All parts of Kashmir today attended AIP’s 5th state flag day simple but impressive celebrations in Municipal Park Srinagar . On the occasion state flag was hoisted and state anthem was displayed amid emotional slogans. Speaking on the occasion Er. Rasheed’s appeal to Govt. to declare 7th June state holiday got over whelming response from the crowd. Speaking on the occasion Party Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed said that Kashmiris will protect what they have and will fight for what they deserve.

He said “the separate identity of Jammu & Kashmir is ample proof that J&K is neither India’s integral part nor Pakistan’s jugular vein. While New Delhi has been often claiming Pakistan administered Kashmir to be ‘slave Kashmir’, the fact is that they have their own Prime Minister, president, Supreme court, Flag and anthem. AJK’s flag flies at par with Pakistani flag on each and every Army Post of LOC, while India has snatched everything from us. Even now the state flag is not being hoisted neither on state high court premises, Ladakh and other prestigious places like Kashmir house Delhi. Let the state anthem be displayed in all those functions where tri-color and Indian anthem is being displayed in J&K ”.

Er. Rasheed appealed Kashmiris to ensure the dignity and sanctity of the state flag and said that it is a must to defeat the nefarious designs of those dreaming J&K’s integration with the Indian state. He said “Let there be no confusion that restoring autonomy is not a permanent solution and if New Delhi believes in peace it must release all political prisoners from Tihar to Srinagar. How can talks take places if Salah-ud-din’s son is languished in jail and leaders like Masrat Alam, Qasim Faktoo and Aasia Indrabi are being subjected to worst kind of state terrorism, even inside Jails. Talks should not be held for the sake of talks nor should New Delhi misled masses by talking confusions and talks together”. Er. Rasheed added that it is militants represented by United Jihad counsel who are the main stake holders and should be accepted as the main stake holders, besides Huriyat leadership.

He said “New Delhi should restrain from character assassination of Huriyat but at the same time Huriyat should not doubt all those who question not their sincerity by methodology”. He reminded Huriyat leaders of their pledge and commitment to protect Article 35-A and other provisions granting special status to Kashmir and added that observing state flag day and restoring it’s honor would be a right move in this regard. Er. Rasheed added that it is alarming for Kashmiris that the presence of Muslim officers in police and civil administration from civil secretariat to DGP’s office is being reduced to a marginal level under a well crafted plan. On the occasion other who spoke included Zeeshan Pandith, Haji Mohammad Yousuf , Gh. Nabi Mir, Advocate Noor-ul-Shahbaz, Advocate Maajid Banday, Prince Parvez, Molvi Shabir Rather and Mudasir Rasool.
